Well its a rifle firstly, and yeah, the CMP, NRA, and all kinds of gun shows are great places to pick one up, and yes, its really a great rifle to own, I would NEVER trade it for anything else.

its not the clip hitting the ground that causes the sound its the ejection function of the gun that makes the sound when the clip is empty

yeah they are actually pretty common, mostly little gun shops have them around here in Missouri. but the NRA also has a huge supply of them if you join a club.

in small forests and in the middle of an ambush with not that many people, the sound of an M1 Garand clip hitting the ground is actually a very clear and hearable sound!

Way to read wikipedia and present it as fact to the rest of the world. Take a clip and throw it at the ground. You will NOT hear it out in the field with hundreds of other guns going off.
