Good luck, check out reef central (google it) theres plenty of info there. And yes, bigger tanks = easier to keep in terms of chemistry.

i going to about to start a 55 gallon reef tank..first one in my whole life..i hear the bigger the tank it is easier.dont now why but keep up the good work..really like the rock formation you have there!

it's pretty funny how similar my current set-up is to this one, i have a 29 with the same hydor koralia, used to have the same filter (now a fluval canister) have my LR set up in reverse, with the larger tower on the left, and have a deep sandbed.
