What? If Arnold was in his prime today and was in the hunt for another Olympia and had access to the supplements todays bodybuilders have Arnold would annihilate them without question.

To Tmackin...i give Arnold huge credit and he deserves every bit of success he has had but all i'm saying is that if he came on the scene today nobody outside of the bodybuilding community would take notice of him. Certainly by now the fad would have come and gone and whoever was the man in the sport at that time would have benefitted from the media attention. Timing is a piece of the puzzle in creating any legend. Ask any former president.

Arnold, and the others you mentioned, were huge contributors in the creation of this so-called 'timing' you speak of. Come on, give him the credit he deserves. After Pumping Iron hit the theaters gym memberships across the US exploded.

Arnold was great and he worked very hard but alot of his success was just great timing. He came along when bodybuilding just started to go mainstream and everyone noticed him. He was the best, but there have been many better since who just came along at a time when the public doesn't care. Many legends had timing on their side...Elvis Pressley, Hulk Hogan, Bill Gates....if the general public doesn't care about your patricular game then you won't have that level of success... |
