I find it funny that eve talked about how it is a good gun because you can easily find parts WHEN it breaks and how you can do repairs in the field. I say just get a gun that wont break in the field on you.

lol i hav the same gun. for me if i dont clean it it jams up a lot. it does wear the o rings pretty good. mine i havnt had too many problems with it, with my other 1 i had a lot tho

I agree. I don't have one but kno someone that does. with trap loads it turns into a single shot cause it only has 1 gas port to cycle it. it's ok with slugs or real heavy loads. Get a 11-87 or an 870. 11-87 is the same as a 1100 but has 2 gas ports and more reliable. but an 870 (i have one) can't be beat for reliability.

I have a Remington 1100 20 gauge and honestly would not recommend it. It requires a lot of maintenance and is prone to jamming, even when properly cleaned. It is not as simple to disassemble as an over under and wears through rubber O-rings quickly, which leads to jamming. I have also found that many hunting fields do not like semi-auto shotguns and prefer that over-under shotguns are used.

I tend to prefer a Beretta over and under because the re-sale value will be among the best. If you want something much cheaper, even a Ruger Red Label will do the job. The trick is to ask around where you shoot and then try as many guns as you can find until you like the feel of one.
